Laura A. Scott, is an educator from Landover, Maryland.  As a native Washingtonian, she began her educational journey in the District of Columbia Public School System attending grades

K-8.  Following a family move to Prince George’s County, Maryland she attended Northwestern High school and there earned her high school diploma. Following her exit from high school, Ms. Scott continued her educational career at Bowie State University in Bowie, Maryland.

An educator to the core, Laura has always had a passion for helping others learn.  She began her career with Prince George’s County Public Schools where she spent 13 years serving the county’s young people and families.

Her philosophy of education is simple. “Everyone has the ability to learn and grow and it is important that the desire to grow be an intrinsic one. Then and only then can the effects be everlasting.”

Currently, Laura serves in ministry at The Gathering at Forestville under the leadership of Bishop Donald A. Wright.  She serves in a dual capacity as the Director of Education and as part of the Administrative Staff.

Now, as a member of A Woman’s Voice Matter core team, she strives to be a better, bolder, bigger force of good every day.

In her own words, she “hopes and prays for the absolute fulfillment of your dreams and aspirations; that you will live your life boldly and without regret believing that all IS well..."
